Unfinished Mission of Michelangelo Now Completed

  1. The 18-meter-long bridge is made entirely of cardboard and is held in suspension by three large balloons.
  2. This is the result of the genius of the French artist Olivier Grossetete on the initiative of the French embassy together with the Institut Francais Italia.
  3. The Webuild group also supported this project in collaboration with the Villa Farnesina-Accademia dei Lincei.

The Ponte Farnese with the name “Ponte tra le Epoche” was inaugurated on the evening of July 13th, 2021 with the termination of the work in the Tiber section at Ponte Sisto. It will remain suspended at a height of 18 meters until July 18, then it will be dismantled and the cardboard used for construction – all completely recycled.

It was built in a kind of “flying” construction site with workshops for people of all ages and according to the specifications of the French artist and in the presence of his team.

Grossetète is not new to this type of temporary architecture. They have installed similar plants in France, Spain, China and Russia.
