Juno was founded by the famous Swedish baker and noma alumnus Emil Glaser and excellent pastries and rolls make the wait well worth the wait. Get yourself a bunch of coffee and have a quick snack or take a picnic and eat it all yourself. Nobody is going to blame you for doing it. As a side tip, Juno has a sister café around the corner called “At the Counter”, which serves similar bites and a larger selection of coffee.
Manfred’s is primarily billed as a wine bar. And although there is a huge selection of wines, the food at Manfred’s is a big highlight. The menu here focuses on charcuterie with a selection of cheeses, charcuterie, and wine pairs. While charcuterie takes center stage, Manfreds brings it to a healthier and more Scandinavian style. The menu is veggie-heavy with locally sourced ingredients, and dishes include healthy grain bread that is locally and freshly baked. If you want to satisfy your hunger for protein, you are also in luck, because the characteristic beef tartare is prepared with rye crumbs, poached egg mayonnaise and long strands of spicy cress for a little heat.

The items and dishes are pretty simple, but it’s the craft that goes into the food that really makes this place special. The Bæst serves freshly made pizza, made in an imported brick wood oven from Naples. The pizza dough is made in house using locally ground flour that has risen before baking, along with vegetables from the restaurant’s farm and mozzarella cheese from cows on the same farm. Home-made ice cream for dessert, also from the in-house cows. From the dough to the cheese, the toppings to the dessert, everything is made locally and homemade. The restaurant was also featured on Netflix Ugly tasty the restaurant has now also gained an international reputation.
La Glace conductor
Conditori La Glace is an iconic Danish landmark. Founded in 1870, Conditori La Glace is like an old Willy Wonka factory. The place is Denmark’s oldest pastry shop and after 150 years of operation the place seems a little mysterious. The interior features a pink, green, and brass tea room that conveys moods from a bygone era as you be seduced by the sights and smells of delicious pastries and sweets. Have some tea and make your way through all of the sugary goodies that Conditori La Glace has to offer. Her specialty is that the sports cake or “sports cake”, which is made from crushed nougat with whipped cream and a macaron base.

The beer scene in Europe is one of the best and it’s no secret that Danes love good beer. The hotel is located right on the water in an old warehouse and has been rebuilt in such a way that it offers plenty of space for many guests to hang out, drink and of course enjoy gastronomic-inspired pub food. There are over 20 different beers on tap here, on offer in turns, so there’s always something new to discover, while the food on offer here is some of the best bar fare you’ll ever have, such as – the chef’s signature plate.
Copenhagen started off as little more than a fishing village and arguably rose to power of a European capital because of its maritime industry and fishing. Suffice it to say that seafood is a big part of Danish culture. Hooked offers the best of Scandinavian seafood delicacies with the modern flair and taste of the 21st century. The owners of Hooked have had great success with their food truck of the same name as well as touring local food festivals and have decided that the next step is a permanent store. Hooked is in the Nørrebro area and serves things like lobster rolls, fish and chips, poke bowls and fish burgers. While many seafood restaurants can get pricey, eating at Hooked won’t break the bank. There are plenty of bars and nightclubs in the area which make it a good place to have a bite to eat before a couple of drinks or something to soak up some alcohol after a night out.
Food in Copenhagen is not all made from minimalist and restaurant-grown ingredients that have been carefully arranged in an artistically appealing way. The food scene goes beyond that, and GAO is a perfect example. GAO is the city’s first specialty dumpling bar and specializes in meaty, doughy, and broth-like goodies that are dumplings. The bright green ceramic walls and neon signs give the place a bit of hip and modern flair, while the food is like being on a street corner in China. GAO is located in Blågårdsgade so there are plenty of little hip cafes and lakes nearby so you can have a take away and picnic from here if you don’t feel like eating a variety of dumplings to choose from, all from start to finish End are handmade.
Sanchez combines Danish minimalism with the bold flavors of Mexico and comes from Noma alum Rosio Sanchez. The atmosphere here is simple yet elegant with a full bar stocked with a variety of wines and spirits, wooden tables, and bright accents for an uplifting and fun atmosphere. The Sanchez combines fine Mexican-inspired cuisine with Nordic flavors to serve dishes such as homemade taco with Scandinavian salmon and locally made queso fresco. It’s not quite what you will find in Tijuana, but it’s unique and delicious.
Don’t let the name fool you, Lille Bakery is much more than bread and pastries (although there are plenty of them too). While other bakeries in town offer a more picking attitude, Lille Bakery is a perfect spot for a morning coffee and relaxation or a casual afternoon lunch with some coworkers. The open plan dining area and kitchen make for a cozy and cool feel, while dishes like salads, pastries, and light lunches make it a perfect spot for an afternoon snack.
