Jet Airways 2.zero: The New Airline

Initially it will only be a domestic airline, but by the end of next year Jet Airways 2.0 will also be able to fly abroad. The new management has not disclosed details of the plans for international operations, however industry sources suggested the airline might consider the golf sector for its first iteration.

While the original Jet Airways was based in Mumbai, the rebirth will be based in New Delhi. It will continue to have a strong and significant presence in Mumbai, its former base.

The ownership pattern will also be different. Naresh Goet used to be in charge, but now a consortium led by UAE-based Indian businessman Murari Lal Jalan will be in the cockpit. Jalan, who heads the Jalan Kalrock Consortium (JKC), acquired the decommissioned Indian airline Jet Airways.

A top executive said the airline plans to start international short-haul operations for the airline in the second half of next year.

Sources say the new company will have 50 aircraft initially in 3 years, with the number expected to grow to 100 in 5 years.

Should this plan be implemented, both aviators and business people will be satisfied and watch the developments of the reborn airline eagerly.

The expansion of flight capacities will be a great development, especially since the divestment of Air India will take even more time.

According to its own information, the airline has already hired over 150 full-time employees and would like to take another 1,000 employees on board in the current financial year. The setting takes place in stages and across categories.
