ITB Asia 2015 – Commerce Present for the Asian Journey Market

ITB Asia, the “Exhibition for the Asian Travel Market”, has announced that it will continue its partnership with the leading conference and association management company KIT Group and expand this year’s conference program of the association.

A series of sessions entitled “EAST Meetings WEST” will address the question of how European and international associations can optimize their activities and relationships in the Asia-Pacific region, and will include specific discussions focusing on key markets such as China and India. The KIT conference will take place on October 22, 2015, the second day of the fair, in the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.

“This education business program, specifically designed for association and industry leaders, complements ITB Asia’s strong conference offering. This year’s speakers will discuss Asia’s unique club landscape and offer advice on how organizers can improve their own events to attract greater participation from the region. “Said Katrina Leung, Managing Director of Messe Berlin (Singapore), the organizers of ITB Asia.

The first session, entitled “The Multipolar Knowledge Society”, deals with the internationalization and regionalization of the world of associations with contributions from Alessandro Cortese, CEO of Radiotherapy and Oncology of the European Society (ESTRO), and Mohamed Mezghani, Deputy Secretary of Union International de Transport Public (UITP).

The growth of regional events in the association sector is then examined in detail. Case study presentations will be given by Josche Ouwerkerk, Conference and Relations Manager for the International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA), and Professor Tan Huay Cheem, President of the Asian Pacific Society of Interventional Cardiology (APSIC).

“Our sessions are specifically aimed at delegates who want to expand Asia’s participation in their events or who actually want to expand their events to the Asian market. Our timely and tailor-made content enables participants to gain insights into the enormous possibilities of this diverse and expanding market, ”said Ben Hainsworth, Executive Director for Associations at KIT Group GmbH.

The conference will also shed light on the prospects for two regional giants, China and India. Speakers include Jennifer Salsbury, CEO of IMC Convention Solutions, former Director of Sales, International at China National

Convention Center (CNCC), Beijing, and a senior representative of the World Toilet Organization (WTO), which held its global summit in New Delhi earlier this year.

ITB Asia will have a strong series of conferences this year, with a number of sessions already confirmed. These include partnerships with the China Outbound Tourism Research Institute (COTRI), the Center for Aviation (CAPA) and DestinationElite. Attendees can expect to gain a thorough understanding of China’s booming outbound travel market and learn about the latest change drivers that are critical to understanding the future of the aviation industry, as well as trends in the premium travel and hospitality industries in Asia .

ITB Asia is a partner event of TravelRave, a mega travel and tourism festival week organized by Singapore. Last year’s fair attracted almost 750 exhibitors from 76 countries and 850 buyers from 62 countries.
