Greatest pals on an intra-tourism drive in Africa

As part of an agreement, the cooperation between Kenya and Rwanda – best friends, so to speak – is to be accelerated in order to improve the competitiveness of the East African region as a tourist destination.

  1. These two African nations paved the way for an intra-African tourism offensive and a work agenda.
  2. The two countries will work together and then implement tourism marketing and promotional programs through joint marketing activities.
  3. They will also organize introductory tours and educational webinars to promote travel to the East Africa region.

The two countries have signed a partnership agreement through the Kenya Association of Travel Agents (KATA), the Rwanda Development Board (RDB), the Rwanda Chamber of Tourism (RCT) and the East African Tourism Platform to accelerate the development of tourism and leisure Business in the East African region.

Under the agreement signed earlier this month, the partner countries will work together to address the challenges facing the East African region in its tourism and travel industries.

The signed agreement will help identify and examine various solutions and initiatives that can help transform the tourism and travel business, then market regional tourism offerings to potential new travelers in new source markets and promote East African regional travel.

This partnership will bring the three East African regional associations to work together to implement tourism marketing and promotional programs through joint marketing activities that guide visitors to their national and regional tourist attractions and experiences.

The undersigned associations will also organize introductory tours and educational webinars to promote travel to the East African region, creating more opportunities for private sector actors to work together in promoting tourism in the East African region.
