The Baha Mar project is a 1,000 acre resort project on the island of New Providence in the Bahamas, near the capital Nassau. There are three hotels with a total of 2,200 rooms, 284 private residences, a 100,000 square meter casino, a 30,000 square meter spa and a Jack Niklaus-designed Tournament Players Club golf course. The groundbreaking for this development took place in 2011 and the resort was due to open in 2015. Due to investor and financial difficulties and with new owners, Baha Mar 2017 officially opened with a hotel, the Grand Hyatt.
