PXCom Tailored InCoach Leisure – Imaginative and prescient Methods
Thanks to its partnership with Vision Systems, PXCom is taking part in the competition in which the “Coach of the Year 2016” is awarded as an interactive travel guide for passengers and functions for booking activities.
The “Coach of the Year” (and “Bus of the Year” award every two years) was established in 1989 to reward the potential and creativity of bus manufacturers and to develop sophisticated solutions for everyday mobility needs and comfortable travel. Many points are taken into account: safety, driving comfort, arrangement of the steering wheel, displays, mirrors, noise, etc. so that the jury selects the “Trainer of the Year 2016”. The jury consists of 20 journalists from leading bus magazines in 20 European countries. The award ceremony will take place next October at Busworld in Courtrai, Belgium.
The PXCom inflight solution was adapted to Vision Systems’ InCoach entertainment platform, i-Comfort, which is based on a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) architecture and an integrated WiFi server architecture. It includes travel guides, tasting guides, a destination calendar, discount coupons and a booking engine for activities at the destination.
This new media room also enables tourism providers to advertise their activities directly to passengers and thus generate additional income for the bus operator.
