Marriott Center East, Egypt, and Turkey has beneath new management

Marriott, the world’s largest hotel company based in Maryland, USA, has properties in 133 countries under 30 brands. Marriott today announced a new appointment as Middle East CEO.

  1. Marriott International has named Mr. Sandeep Walia as Chief Operating Officer for the Middle East
  2. Marriott also named Jerome Briet as chief development officer for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
  3. Walia will take on the role on July 1, 2021 after announcing the resignation of current COO Guido De Wilde, announced last month. Briet will take over from Carlton Ervin, recently named Marriott’s Global Development Officer International.

Walia will be responsible for Marriott International’s 146 operating hotels in the Middle East, Egypt and Turkey, representing 21 hotel brands in ten countries, while Briet will be responsible for Marriott’s growth and market position in EMEA and support the company globally Development vision of the company.

In his new role, Walia will work to drive the company’s recovery in the Middle East and expand its presence across the region. At the same time, he will support the company’s vision of becoming EMEA’s most popular travel company.
