India Tourism Going All Out Via Movie, Sports activities, Faith, Staycations, Workations

  1. A package of INR 200 crores was arranged for service providers affected by COVID, such as adventure tour operators and river guides.
  2. In districts across India there are plans to revitalize tourism through various means such as film and sports, religion, residence and work assignments.
  3. The FICCI chairman said travel, tourism and hospitality were the first to suffer and likely the last to recover.

Address at the farewell meeting of the 2nd e-Conclave on Travel, Tourism and Hospitality: Resilience and the Path to Recreation, organized by FICCI, Mr Maharaj, the Cabinet Minister for Irrigation, Flood Control, Minor Irrigation, Rainwater Harvesting, Water Management, Indo-Nepal Uttarakhand River Projects, Tourism, Pilgrimage & Religious Fairs, Culture said the state had taken various measures to revitalize the sector.

“Among the various measures and subsidies that the state has taken, the state offers measures to attract and support the film industry for filming Uttarakhand. In addition, as part of the Deendayal Homestay Yojana, we provided a grant of INR 10 lakhs in hilly terrain and INR 7.5 lakhs in plains. 3,400 host families have been registered under this program so far, ”he said.

With regard to the latest trends in tourism, Mr. Maharaj said that people are now also looking forward to stays and work assignments. “We started the online registration under Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Yojana. We have also developed different routes to encourage local travel, ”he said.
