COVID kills: Newest occasion sufferer

For the second year in a row, the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic has killed the Pattaya Music Festival.

  1. The renaming as the red coronavirus zone has ceased activities in the city of Pattaya.
  2. The annual Post-Songkran Kong Khao Festival at Lan Po Public Park has also been canceled.
  3. Pattaya Deputy Mayor says the weekend market in Naklua Walk & Eat will continue as he believes tourist events must continue.

COVID kills another event when Pattaya Mayor Sonthaya Kunplome announced yesterday the cancellation of the music festival’s concerts from April 30th to May 2nd, 2021. The mayor cited Chonburi’s renaming as the “red” coronavirus zone with the highest level of control by the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA).

City Hall has also canceled the annual Post-Songkran Kong Khao Festival in Lan Po Public Park, which is scheduled for April 20th. The Mayor noted that the Pattaya Kite Festival, which extends 300 meters on Pattaya Beach until April 19, will continue. The Office for the Promotion of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises’ Connext Seminar, which runs until April 19, and the Connext Seminar of the Thai Chamber of Commerce will also continue, he said.
