WestJet restores regional routes suspended on account of COVID-19
The reinstatement of the service will restore WestJet’s entire network of domestic airports prior to COVID-19
- WestJet has committed to a safe restart of regional routes
- WestJet flights are scheduled to return to airports in Atlantic Canada and Quebec City
- Service at the five airports, which WestJet suspended from June 24, 2021 to June 30, 2021, is to be resumed
WestJet announced today that flights to the communities of Charlottetown, Fredericton, Moncton, Sydney and Quebec City will be restored after service was suspended due to COVID-19. The reinstatement of the service will restore WestJet’s entire network of domestic airports prior to COVID-19.
“We are committed to returning to the communities we left as a result of the pandemic, and we will be restoring flights to these regions at our own request in the coming months,” said Ed Sims, WestJet, President and CEO. “These communities have been critical to our success for the past 25 years. It is important for us to ensure they have access to affordable air services and domestic connectivity to fuel their economic recovery.”
Service at WestJet’s five airports will resume from June 24, 2021 to June 30, 2021. In addition, service between St. John’s and Toronto, which was suspended indefinitely in October, will resume effective June 24, 2021. After a temporary interruption, service between St. John’s and Halifax will restart on June 24 Moved forward from 2021 to May 6, 2021. The full schedule details and restart dates are given below.
